They make assembling without volume interferences impossible. Modeling threads in 3D absolutely kills performance in any CAD package.

Just to make it clear, I'm rooting for Fusion! If Fusion developer looking for a good feature recognition sample, I'll suggest to look at SolidEdge as it has the best direct modelling, assembly mirror tool, pattern tool, feature recognition, measure tool, and drafting (called drawings in Fusion), though it's certainly one of the harder CAD program to learn. Mainly due to a modelled thread uses more resources and it'll lose its center mark/diameter. Fusion has some sort of feature recognition (which I don't like how it's done) in direct modelling, but it'll just create a hole feature with the diameter, it'll not assign a thread feature, nor there's an option for the user to specify the thread during recognition, eg: a M3 tap hole is around dia 2.5mm, so Fusion feature recognition will only identify hole as diameter 2.5mm and theres a tendency for it to get the wrong blind hole depth.Īnd I can't recall if SW has it or not but most CAD thread creation is cosmetic and not modelled by default unless specified otherwise. I think I know what you want and the answer is generally a no.
